After my own Hindu wedding, I began exploring ritualized performances in which brides become consumable artifacts. After looking through my stacks of wedding albums and videotapes, I realized how profoundly disconnected I felt from my image as a bride. I was unable to watch the 'official' wedding video, so I set up my video camera, re-shot the footage, and added text, suggesting the bride’s interior dialogue. This video is an attempt to make the ritualistic images my own.
